企圖要做什麼事,尤其是困難或不易成功的事,英文怎麼說 

用attempt(企圖)這個字,有兩種用法,在此都用過去式說明

a. 當名詞用

in an attempt to + 動詞=>企圖要.../為了要...

The factories were closed in an attempt to cut costs.(工廠企圖要降低成本而關閉了)

made no attempt to + 動詞=>沒有企圖要...

He made no attempt to escape. (他沒有企圖要逃脫)

When early humans attempted to fly, they mimicked birds.

(當早期人們企圖要飛時,他們模仿鳥兒)=> 絕對是困難的事,而且幾乎不可能會成功

b. 當動詞用

attempted to + 動詞

I attempted to repair this myself.(我企圖要自己修好這個)

I didn't attempt to escape. (我沒有企圖要逃脫)

A group of men attempt to move the car.

(一群男人企圖要移動車子)=>一看就知道很困難
